"Technical" school
Hello again, today it'll be more of a ramble.
So, I'm attending a technical school, faculty of transportation science to be exact. It's been over five weeks and last Thursday morning we noticed our timetable, Moodle and other important pages got shut down. No one knew what happened, no e-mail from school or anything, we then discovered that day in the evening (we still were in class of course) through the news that our school got under a cyber attack... great we have all of our sensitive informations there. Luckily, they managed to stop the attack and from the most recent news we got, there were no information stolen or leaked. But I'm still very disappointed. Because of this we can't sign up for exams, we don't have any study materials (thankfully I have at least Calculus and some other materials of other subjects on my laptop).
On Thursday night we received an e-mail about the web recovery and its date set on the next day. Great, it won't be a problem for too long. Wrong. We got another e-mail from the school about it not going so smoothly and moved the date to Monday midnight. We weren't ecstatic, but we were glad that it'll work again soon. Well that's what we thought and we have a good saying for this in Czech, "thinking is knowing shit", why am I saying that? Because on Monday we got another, for now last, e-mail about the recovery and they were no pleasant news. They moved the date further more on Thursday and added that the date might move further... I know that it might not be the best work to do and that it might be harder than I think, I'm not an IT specialist afterall. But we are not able to wrap our heads around how it can take so long.
Anyway, it's fun. Everyone enjoys it and it shows. There are many problems and inconveniences with this faculty or more like with our department of aircraft transportation, which I think they added only to make the uni look more interesting. But about all that sometime else.
The only thing, that made me happy is our "autumn break", on Wednesday it's public holiday, on Thursday we have "Dean's day" and Friday we got off.
